One Founder’s Story<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You may recognize me (Ben Miller) as Healers\u2019 editor-in-chief, and that\u2019s what I\u2019m writing about, to inform you that we have a new lead editor and that I\u2019m transitioning to practitioner counseling, applying all I\u2019ve learned from working with C.A.M. providers since 2007, when I graduated early from my BA to assist in two outpatient programs at Hartford Hospital\u2019s Institute of Living.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Complementary and alternative medicine holds personal significance to me, so between Healers Magazine and Psychology Tomorrow \u2013 where I was promoted to COO during business school \u2013 I\u2019ve been publishing holistic\/integrative authors for seven years. In that time, I\u2019ve come to see that content production and editing\/proofreading are the tip of the iceberg regarding providers\u2019 holistic needs, most of which are common and operational in nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why help healers and therapists polish new articles and videos, and provide them with yet another directory listing, when we could be optimizing their personal sites for search engines? Why look for more leads when they\u2019re not yet communicating with their current contacts effectively? Lots of reflection along similar lines led us to support half a dozen initial private practices this year in every aspect of digital marketing and web design. Our grateful partners have known as as Healers\u2019 Helpers<\/em> but we\u2019re now\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Remaining convinced that we\u2019re living in CAM\u2019s defining moment (Healers Magazine \u2013 Issue 9), we\u2019re connecting providers and global citizens with social-enterprise experience who are passionate about public health. Together, we\u2019re catalyzing healing journeys worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The name \u201cCAM Corps\u201d is more inclusive since many don\u2019t self-identify with the word \u201chealer.\u201d Secondly, it\u2019s now a pipeline program from which our specialists graduate, when they\/we are ready to focus on their\/our own careers as wellness providers. We are called to make the offering of our executive experience and technical skills so that therapists\/healers can do what they do best, but we can\u2019t leave it at that. Integratively, CAM Corps is a pipeline program from which our specialists graduate, when we\u2019re ready to focus on our own careers as wellness providers. This is known as transformational leadership and is considered the best-performing in the corporate world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to taking on busywork, our team helps providers identify ways in which their modalities\u2019 underlying principles \u2013 e.g., mindfulness \u2013 can be implemented into their practice\u2019s business models, avoiding archetypal blockages through macroscopic, design thinking<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
